Creating in the NOW!

April 16, 2010

Last week I had the pleasure in assisting my assistant Kayla Rabe. She is a junior at the NW College of Art here in Poulsbo WA. Her assignment for her Cultural Studies class was to do a presentation on another country about art.

As she told me about the assignment, an image of the Omo tribe came to  mind. Kayla took this and went for it. The day of her presentation, instead of working in the studio, we played.  It was such a delight for me to watch Kayla creating in the Now. These tribes in Africa do this every day. Such an amazing story of people who have not forgotten what it is like to live life creatively.
